Lily’s Letter to SantaDecember 22, 2016
My name is Lily, and this is the first time I’m writing a letter to you. You see, I’m just 2 years old and last Christmas I was living in a home with my previous family.
They had gotten me when I was a puppy, and I came to live with them and their children. The older boy - I really liked him - but the little one, just a baby, was a lot for me to handle. As the baby got bigger, I found myself very uncomfortable around him. I didn’t like it when he came by me trying to take my things.
I didn’t mean to be mean to him, but they were my things and I didn’t want to share. I guess that was okay, but next thing I know I’m at the animal shelter.
Don’t get me wrong, its not all bad being here. The people who take care of me are really nice. I get to go for walks 3-4 times a day and get to see people all the time.
They give me nice, soft blankets to lie on and toys to play with. I get clean water every day and yummy food. And since its so cold out, I get to wear pretty sweaters and jackets!
What I’d really like this year, Santa, is a new family to call my own, without little people that want to steal my things.
I don’t mind other dogs, but I do get a little jealous if the attention isn’t all on me.
Do you think you can help find a home for me Santa? If not for Christmas, then maybe for New Years? I’d really like to watch the ball drop from the comfort of a couch again!
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter Santa, I’ll be patiently waiting for my family to come!
