Adopt-a-thon 2007

Come Join Us!

Kitten Season has arrived, and this year has already brought us over 100 pregnant cats, kittens with moms, and orphaned kittens. We also have many adult cats, dogs, puppies, and rabbits for adoption. In order to introduce all of our furry friends to the public, we are holding our fourth annual adopt-a-thon on Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th. We will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Come join us for some home-baked refreshments, and meet all of our furry friends--including dozens of kittens currently in foster care who are ready, or nearly ready to join new families.

Meet our many dogs, cats, kittens, and rabbits!
Many kittens in foster homes who are ready or almost ready for adoption will be at the shelter to meet you.
Take advantage of the opportunity to meet lots of cats and kittens in the shelter who have not yet been moved to the adoptable cat population.
Reduced adoption fees will apply for all animals chosen and applied for from now through the 24th ($25 off the regular fee)
Learn about opportunities in fostering. You might even be able to meet some of our itty bitty kittens, only a few days to a few weeks old, who are looking for foster homes!
Meet some of our current foster parents and ask the questions you always wanted to about fostering!
Learn about caring for and raising orphaned kittens, or kittens needing extra care, including bottle feeding, basic care, and what to expect.
Meet some of our special needs kitties, including some of our current Meowsers Angels, and learn more about their stories

Interested in helping some newborn babies get the right start? Learn about opportunities in fostering and whether they may be right for you.

Can't adopt? Come on out, join us for refreshments, and visit with our animals anyway. You can help us bring some of the supplies we need most for this time of year:

Kitten formula (powdered or liquid, any brand except Hartz please)
Puppy formula
Meat baby food (pureed chicken, turkey, beef without garlic or onion)
Canned cat and kitten food (ground)
Authority brand canned cat and kitten food (used for some of our special needs kitties, available at PetSmart)
Toys
Dry kitten food

Or, consider donating to the John Vogel spay/neuter fund to help us in our mission to prevent pet overpopulation by making spay/neuter available to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.

*Note: in order to be eligible to take an animal home on the 23^rd or 24th, adoption applications must be submitted no later than noon on Thursday, June 21st and must have an “approved “status. Only animals who have had all necessary medical procedures and assessment will be able to go home on the 23rd or 24^th. In all other cases, arrangements for pickup will be made based on the needs of the individual animal. Applications received for a specific animal by the 24^th qualify for the adoption fee discount, whether or not the animal is ready to go home.
