Return to Adoptable Animals in Foster

April 18th-7 weeks

Velvet is out of heat now and has settled down again, and the kittens are playing with everything.  They can now make the jump to the window shelf (it is only a couple feet off the ground--if it was a standard height they would not quite be ready) and they have started to sit and look out the window like mom.  She is still nursing them from time to time whenever one wants to settle down with her for a few minutes.  We also trim their nails for the first time as they are extremely sharp, and playing with them results in lots of tiny scratches. If they get used to nail trims now, they will be easier to trim throughout their lives.  Their eyes are also changing color now, and have gone from blue to a greenish yellow.  In a couple of weeks, they will reach their final eye color.  All of the kittens are active, playful, and show no signs of sickness.

There are approved adoption applications for 3 of the kittens, but the other 3 are still available for adoption.  Tuxedo (the black and white male) Mouse (the gray female) and Salem (black female) have homes to go to already.  We are accepting applications on the remaining kittens, two girls and a boy, who will be available in May.  They must weigh a little over 2 pounds to be spayed, and will be ready to go home once they are spayed.

The girls:

Mouse, Rascal, Salem, and Slippers

(Mouse and Salem are adopted)

The boys

Squeaker and Tux (adopted)
